This is needed if you have moved to a new country or if you plan on using a different currency for your purchases. Changing to a country in which you don't have a bank account will render you unable of making any purchases.
You can update your Steam country setting when you complete your first purchase using a payment method from that country. If your location differs from your current Steam account store country setting you'll have an option to change your store region while you view your cart or as you complete your purchase. Alternately, use these steps to change your country:
Step 1: Log in to your Steam account > click profile > click account details.
Step 2: Click "Update store country".
Step 3: Select your country of residence/ current location.
Step 4: Enter your home billing address that matches the payment method you plan to use on Steam > Click "apply country change".
- You can only change to a country in which you currently located (note: Steam is able to detect your current location automatically)
- Your Steam country cannot be changed frequently. Once changed, you'll not be able to change it again for at least TWO weeks.
